She found out the exact point for the needle to be introduced in order to thread them without killing them. Thus, she used to make necklaces of live flies; and was turned on by the celestial sensation that the rubbing of their desperate legs and tremulous wings produced in her skin.
Misia Sert, “Necklace of flies “(San Petersburg, 1872)
A woman threads a needle, an emotional sting, an instrument for the arrival to her shaded places which denounces the impossibility and the need to feel pleasure. The outcome is the effect of scratching the internal fields.
The project is a Solo of dance-theatre including audiovisual interactive systems. It is based on the text “Necklace of Flies’” by artist Misia Sert.
It is about precision, about seeking the exact point, about the possibility of being consistent with an intention, with a plan, with a wish to make real. It experiments on the concept of “bewilderment”: the intensity of being dominated; deprived; disabled; absorbed; and caught.
It creates a world with a particular language of movement, coherent with the qualities and physical actions related to the reality that this woman has managed to master, and by which she is stunned as essential subtraction of the possibility of perception itself.
It will be developed in a single dark circular space: the circular route and periphery of the spectator will intervene as approximation to the movement of the fly, being able to have several points of view of the event. The digitally generated images will create a visual tissue of mucous and membranous appearance that subscribes to the human interior space: A space and a state that the dancer experiences in her performance.
The body of the interpreter will interact in the scene determining the images and the sound in a continuous synchronism with the moves produced by her. The possibility of the real time contributes to the mastering of the instant.
